Some positions may involve office support responsibilities, including the creation of reports, presentations, spreadsheets and websites. Other technical support positions may require knowledge of operating systems, software applications or basic computer programming skills. You can modify existing software, install new software, and troubleshoot any problems related to performance. You can also use their skills to consult with customers and supervise other personnel.

As a computer applications specialist, you would likely work either within a company that uses computer systems or directly for a computer hardware or software vendor.
