Tanille Ulm – Early Childhood Education Instructor
As a student of the program, you’ll have the opportunity to interact with children while you learn. The field experience is designed to give you early exposure to children birth to 8 years old, classroom routines, teaching methods, and management of preschools and daycare facilities. You can learn with diverse student populations and learn child behavior management techniques.
This program is transferable, so you have the option to achieve a Bachelor of Science degree in family and consumer sciences with a focus in family service. Contact an advisor regarding transferability options.
The ACT WorkKeys test qualifies students as “highly qualified” in accordance with No Child Left Behind. It is a legally defensible, U.S. Department of Labor-compliant testing system that contains assessments in all three subject areas required by No Child Left Behind. There is a $100 fee for this test. Lake Land College offers a degree as a paraprofessional which makes an individual marketable to most school districts.
ECE 120 and ECE 125 must be taken in the same semester.
