Teaching at a small college was my goal when I entered my doctoral program. While I enjoyed research in chemistry, my true passion was classroom teaching. Lake Land has been a great place to share my excitement and enthusiasm for chemistry. My students not only learn science but they also learn life skills to foster work ethic, perseverance and self-confidence. I recognize and understand the role and influence that a faculty member can have on a student’s life. The reason I pursued chemistry teaching as a career was due, in large part, to several influential teachers/professors. Teaching at Lake Land has allowed me to give to others what my mentors gave to me.
Research interests have included synthetic and physical organic chemistry as it applies to dendritic mimics photosynthetic light harvesting.
