Analyze and Report

After teaching and assessing, we aggregate the data and analyze it. If assessment results do not meet expectations, the faculty member will be able to evaluate and revise assignments and supports to improve students’ learning opportunities.

We analyze assessment activity, compare the results, and plan changes to improve.

We transfer data into information and use data for the purpose of proving and improving.

DATA + ANALYSIS = INFORMATION

Key Questions to Consider When Writing an Assessment Report

  • What was the assessment instrument that was used?
  • Were the course and program outcomes met?
  • Do we need to make any curriculum changes? How can we implement those changes?
  • What steps are being taken to close the gaps in learning?

Reporting Assessment Results

Reporting our assessment results offers several advantages to the department or program:

  • It creates a record of when and why program or course changes were implemented.
  • It establishes a timeline that highlights both successes and challenges, enabling the department or program to learn from past experiences and avoid repeating mistakes as we move forward.

We have a Word template for collecting data the results. Assessment Analysis and Reporting.docx

Reports:

Course Evaluation Analysis Report:

This report allows a user to run a report that aggregates the results of a specific course evaluation by type (Student, Instructor, or General) and view aggregate the results by either Course or Course Section.  The user will then have the ability to select results link next to the aggregate result to expand to the Survey Results detail page in the selected survey for either the Course or Course Section aggregate details.

Program Course Outcome Report:

This report allows the user to view and audit the outcome mapping relationship defined between Program outcomes (PLOs) and Courses and/or Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) created through the Curriculum Mapping process.  These results may be generated for current versions of Programs and for previously saved versions of the Program.

Curriculum Map Report:

This report allows the user to view and analyze the outcome mapping relationship between outcomes/performance indicators and Courses and/or Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) in a specific Program. The resulting report will display the mapping and the developmental level of the mapping.

PLO/CLO Direct Assessment Analysis:

The PLO/CLO Direct Assessment Analysis report provides the user with a high-level view of whether their students are meeting the outcome assessment goals set at the Course learning outcome level aggregated by outcome in for the selected term(s) by Course or by Course Section.   There are three types of results you may generate from this report:

CLO Assessment Results:  Generate a report on the results of Course Learning Outcomes (CLO) assessed within a Course or Course Section that are NOT mapped to a Program Learning Outcome (PLO) in a Program.

Program Assessment Results:  Generate a report on the results of Course Learning Outcomes assessed within a Course or Course Section that ARE mapped to a Program Learning Outcome in a Program.

Both:  Generate a report that includes assessment results for Course Learning Outcomes which are mapped to Program Learning Outcomes in a Program AND the Course Learning Outcomes that are assessed exclusive of inclusion in a Program’s curriculum map.
