Lake Land College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission with specialized program accreditation by: Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing; American Medical Technologists; Automotive Services Excellence Master Certified (National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation); Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs; Commission on Dental Accreditation; Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education; and Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions. Transcripts may be withheld in accordance with Illinois law, including Public Act 102-0998 and Public Act 103-0054. The College will provide an official transcript to a current or former student, even if the current or former student owes a debt, if the student requests the official transcript to:
Additionally, the College will not condition the provision of an official transcript to a current or potential employer of a student or former student on the payment of a debt.
If a current or former student believes they qualify for the transcript withholding exceptions, they should submit a request via the College’s online transcript request form and indicate which exception(s) apply. Please refer to Board Policy 10.29 for more information.
In accordance with the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988, Lake Land College must inform students and employees of the college policies regarding drug and alcohol use. All students should review this information. Students should also review the Student Code of Conduct and Disciplinary Procedures.
The annual security report provides information regarding crime statistics, policies for students and others to report criminal actions or other emergencies, and other important information regarding the College’s law enforcement. Students may register to vote at the county clerks’ offices throughout the Lake Land College District or on the Lake Land College campus in Mattoon at the offices of Admissions and Records, Counseling Services and Vice President for Student Services. Voter registration is open year round except during the 27 day period prior to an election and during the 2 day period after each election. A student age 16 or older may serve as an election judge for the general election in Illinois. Students should contact their local County Clerk’s office to inquire about additional qualifications or to express interest in serving.
In accordance with the Illinois Communicable Disease Act, the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) provides an informational brochure regarding Meningococcal Disease that all Illinois colleges and universities must provide to students. The brochure provides important information regarding preventing meningococcal disease as well as recognizing symptoms and how the disease is diagnosed.
