CEAD Council is a community based, not-for-profit corporation offering services to address chemical abuse, dependency and other therapeutic needs. Its mission is to provide a comprehensive array of services for behavioral health promotion and substance abuse prevention, intervention, and treatment through an ongoing process of needs assessment, remediation implementation and systematic evaluation of accomplishments. CEFS is a not-for-profit Community Action Agency incorporated in 1965 to help people achieve their full individual and economic potential. ERBA is a Community Action Agency organized to administer grants and other programming for the target population of low-income citizens of all ages. ERBA serves the following counties: Clark, Coles, Crawford, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Jasper, Lawrence, and Richland, and maintains ten staffed Outreach Offices in the nine counties it serves. Staff members at the local offices are trained in basic information and referral to assist with problems relative to social services. SAIL is a community-based, non-residential Center for Independent Living (CIL). SAFE provides confidential services for survivors of sexual violence, their families and friends. SAFE assists with healing by creating a support system for victims and their families consisting of medical and legal advocacy, counseling and education. HOPE’s mission is to empower persons to live independent, non-violent lives through the provisions of Housing, Outreach, Prevention, and Education. HOPE maintains two housing programs: the domestic violence emergency shelter and ten transitional housing through local apartments. Addicts of drugs or alcohol can come to the Taylorville Police Department during all hours to ask for help. Drugs and drug paraphernalia can be turned in and the person WILL NOT be arrested or charged with a crime. The Safe Passages personnel will do a brief, confidential assessment and will locate a bed in an inpatient facility for immediate entry. Transportation to the facility is provided.
