The Laker Profile is used by prospective students to complete an Application and/or register for events. To log into your Laker Profile, use the personal email on your account and the password you created. To reset your password or if you experience difficulties logging in, call 217-234-5434.

The Laker Hub is used by admitted and current students to access their Laker Mail, Student IRIS, campus announcements, important dates, and much more! To log into your Laker Hub, use the log in information that was included in your welcome packet or click on the “What’s my username?”/”What’s my password?” links on the log in screen. To reset your password or if you experience difficulties logging in, call 217-234-5261.Check out our Student Email FAQs page for more information.

If you did not include your social security number or included an incorrect social security number on your Application, you should complete the Social Security Number Correction form to prevent issues with the processing of financial aid and/or your academic record. Return this completed form to the Admissions and Records office by mail, fax, or in-person. Do not email this form.

Change or update your address through the Laker Hub > Student IRIS > Demographics > Address Change.

Change or update your legal name through the Request to Change Legal Name form. You will also need a government issued photo ID or driver’s license with your new legal name when submitting the form to the Admissions and Records office. Change your chosen/preferred name through the Chosen Name Request form. Requesting a chosen/preferred name does not change your legal name on official academic records such as transcripts and diplomas but does change your first name on most records used for college purposes only.

Change or update your legal gender marker through the Request to Change Legal Gender Marker form. You will also need a government issued photo ID/driver’s license, revised birth certificate, or court order with your new legal gender marker when submitting the form to the Admissions and Records office. Change your chosen/preferred gender marker through the Chosen Gender Marker Request form. Requesting a chosen/preferred gender marker does not change your legal gender marker on official academic records but does change your gender marker on most records used for college purposes only.

You can change your residency status with the College at the Admissions and Records office. You will need to bring a valid government issued photo ID or driver’s license and a copy of your lease or piece of postal mail that includes your in-district address to complete the process.

Opt-in or out of text notifications for class cancellations, SAB event information, and general college announcements from the College through the Laker Hub > Student IRIS > Communication > Text Notifications.

Stop by the Bookstore or Kluthe Center during normal business hours with a valid picture ID (i.e. driver’s license or passport) to get your Lake Land Student ID made. There is a $10 fee for replacement IDs.

The Lake Land College Foundation Scholarship application allows students to automatically be matched with applicable scholarships. Apply from November 1 – February 1 for the following academic year in your Laker Hub through the “Foundation Scholarship Application” button. Request a student loan in your Laker Hub > Student IRIS > Financial Aid Information > Request a Student Loan. Check out our Student Loans page for more information.

Apply for federal work study in your Laker Hub > Student IRIS > Financial Aid Information > Federal Workstudy Application. Check out our Federal Work Study page for more information.

View and pay your bill in your Laker Hub > Student IRIS > Financial > View Account and Make Payments. For those that elect to receive their bill via mail, bills are mailed 30 days prior to the due date.

Grant access to your parent or another third party to your billing details in your Laker Hub > Student IRIS > Financial > Parent Payment Portal Setup. Parents can then log in to the portal here.

Set up a payment plan for your costs in your Laker Hub > Student IRIS > Financial > Set Up My Payment Plan. Check out our Nelnet Payment Plan page for more information.

Sign up to receive your refund electronically via direct deposit in your Laker Hub > Student IRIS > Financial > Student Refunds – Bank Information. Deadlines to sign up for direct deposit each semester on listed on the Laker Calendar.

Access your 1098-T forms in your Laker Hub > Student IRIS > Financial > Tax Forms.

In order to continue to receive Financial Aid, you must make satisfactory progress towards completion of your degree. Check the status of your Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) in your Laker Hub > Student IRIS > Financial Aid Information> Satisfactory Progress (SAP).

If you are seeking a degree or certificate from Lake Land College, academic advisement is required prior to registration each semester. Visit the HUB to find your advisor and their contact information.

Search for classes in your Laker Hub through the Navigate button or Student IRIS > Schedule Courses/Registration > Course Catalog. Prospective students can search through the online course schedule.

After you complete academic advisement for the upcoming semester, you can register for classes by clicking on the Navigate button in your Laker Hub or in your Laker Hub > Student IRIS > Schedule Courses/Registration > Schedule Courses/Registration.

Drop/withdraw from classes in your Laker Hub by clicking the Navigate icon or through your Laker Hub> Student IRIS > Schedule Courses/Registration > Schedule Courses/Registration. If you drop a class prior to the published refund date, you will not be charged for the course. After the refund date, you can still withdraw from a course until the withdrawal deadline. Tuition and fees apply.

You will not be eligible to register for classes, print your textbook list, or acquire a transcript if you have a past-due balance on your account and have not established a payment plan or have not completed academic advising for the upcoming semester. You can check your account blocks in your Laker Hub > Student IRIS > Financial > View Account and Make Payments.

You may request a verification of your application/enrollment in your Laker Hub > Student IRIS > Transcript/Enrollment Request > Enrollment Verification Request.

To pick up your course materials at the Laker Nest Bookstore, you must have your Student ID card and textbook list. Print your textbook list from your Laker Hub > Self-Service > Academics > Print My Booklist. View your currently rented textbooks in your Laker Hub > Student IRIS > Schedule Courses/Registration > Textbooks Rented.

View your class schedule in your Laker Hub by clicking on the Navigate button.

Schedule an appointment to take your placement test by calling 217-234-5301 or emailing tutoringandtesting@lakelandcollege.edu. If you have a documented disability, you can make arrangements for test accommodations by contacting the Office of Student Accommodations at 217-234-5259.Note: students applying to special admission programs should consult with their program’s specific requirements for test scores.

You must complete placement testing, submit ACT or SAT scores, or submit a high school transcript demonstrating placement if you are seeking a certificate or degree.  If you took the SAT or ACT or can demonstrate placement by your high school transcript, please submit your scores and/or transcript to admissions@lakelandcollege.edu as soon as possible.  If you are unable to submit this information, you will need to take a placement test.  Note:  students applying to special admission programs should review their program’s specific requirements for test scores.  Students who have a documented disability can make arrangements for test accommodations by contacting the Office of Student Accommodations at 217-234-5259. Students are encouraged to review the placement test study guide in order to prepare for the test. Students transferring to Lake Land College from other institutions or wish to use their high school transcript to demonstrate placement should check with Counseling Services at 217-234-5232 to determine if placement testing is needed.

Proctoring services are available Monday through Thursday on campus and vary by location at the extension centers in Effingham, Pana, and Marshall. Proctoring can be scheduled in your Laker Hub > Student IRIS > Honors/Surveys/Proctored Test Scheduler > Proctored Test Scheduler.

Tutoring is free to all students and is available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and later by appointment. To ensure there is a tutor available for the particular area you are needing help, an appointment is necessary. Call 217-234-5287 or visit the Tutoring and Testing Center to make an appointment.

View your official grades for each semester in your Laker Hub > Student IRIS > Student Records > Grades. While many instructors utilize Canvas to post grades throughout a semester, please note the grades posted in Canvas may not be current and are not considered official college grades.

GPA is calculated by: (grade point value) X (course credit hours) = total grade points for the course. Add up grade points for all of your courses and divide by your total number of credit hours to arrive at your GPA.

Only grades for courses at the 040 level or above are used to compute grade point average.

Minimum acceptable standards of cumulative grade point average (GPA) to remain in good academic standing are as follows:

12-20 hours	1.5 GPA
21-29 hours	1.6 GPA
30-38 hours	1.7 GPA
39-47 hours	1.8 GPA
48-55 hours	1.9 GPA
56+ hours	2.0 GPA

Failure to remain in good academic standing may impact your enrollment in courses and your ability to receive scholarships and financial aid.

If you are unable to complete the requirements for a course during the scheduled time period due to illness or other extreme circumstance, you may request the instructor to assign a grade of “I” (Incomplete) and be allowed to complete the course during the next scheduled term (excluding summer). Navigate allows students to build an academic plan for their entire career at Lake Land College. Students can also register for classes in Navigate. Access Navigate in your Laker Hub using the Navigate button.

A degree audit determines courses needed to complete a specific degree or certificate program. This official evaluation includes any applicable credits that have been earned at Lake Land College, courses transferred in from another college or university, and military credit that applies to the student’s current program of study. Request a degree audit in your Laker Hub > Student IRIS > Degree Audit/Apply for Graduation > Degree Audit or through our Transcript Evaluation page.

As you begin your last semester of your degree or certificate, you will need to file an Apply to Graduate. This can be done in your Laker Hub > Student IRIS > Degree Audit/Apply to Graduate> Apply to Graduate or in person at the Admissions and Records Office.
