Crystal Swan

The Crystal Swan Award honors a Lake Land College Foundation Board Member who demonstrates exceptional dedication. This year, Madge Shoot has been chosen for her unwavering commitment. As both the College Comptroller and the Foundation’s Treasurer, she pours her heart and soul into Lake Land College, consistently going the extra mile. A proud Lake Land College alumna, Madge is not only a generous donor and active volunteer but also serves on numerous committees. She embodies the spirit of Lake Land College and is a remarkable ambassador for our college.

Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser

Mike Sullivan is this year’s Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser for his extraordinary dedication and impact on Lake Land College and the surrounding community. Mike recently stepped down from his role as Trustee after an incredible 37 years of service. First elected to the Board of Trustees in 1987, Sullivan holds the record as the longest-serving Trustee in the college’s history. His tenure was marked by an unwavering commitment to improving the college and advancing its mission to provide high-quality education to the community.

Outstanding Philanthropic Organization

First Mid Bank & Trust has an unwavering commitment to community involvement, underscoring their belief in making a positive and lasting impact and ensuring they contribute meaningfully to the well-being and prosperity of the communities they serve. Volunteerism, financial support, and sponsorship are important components of the company’s strategic initiatives. Over the years, First Mid has contributed more than $215,000 to support Lake Land College Foundation’s vital work in advancing education and empowering students. Believing in the transformative power of education, First Mid is proud to partner with an institution that shares this dedication to building a brighter future.
